DENTAL

The SpeedMixer is used for a wide variety of dental materials applications including dental composites, ceramics, and adhesives. The ability to formulate and de-gas whitening gels and dental cosmetics in both prototype and production scales has led to a paradigm shift in how the dental industry can produce and distribute these products.

Problem: Difficulty creating highly-loaded composites and degassing final materials.

Solution: SpeedMixing enables the creation of high filler concentrations into photosensitive monomer resins, and vacuum SpeedMixing simultaneously removes entrapped air. SpeedMixers can easily mix 80% silica glass into a methyl methacrylate monomer (MMA) resin while mixing and degassing composite batches ranging from fractions of a gram up to 20 kilograms (1g to 20kg) in minutes of mix time. Traditional technologies such as double planetary mixers can take hours to mix, and require a time consuming post use cleaning. SpeedMixing eliminates cleaning of traditional mixing equipment, preventing risk of contamination between formulations, and increased throughput of material in manufacturing settings.

Problem: Color matching and rapid formulation of Ceramic Dental Prosthetics.

Solution:  Dental prosthetic color matching requires precise dispersion of colorant into dry ceramic powders. SpeedMixers transform color matching into a simple, repeatable process, allowing the user to disperss minute concentrations of colorants into ceramics enabling prosthetic shade matching and formulation replication.

Problem: Formulating and degassing production quantities of whitening gels.
Solutions: Production quantities of peroxide-based whitening gels can take hours to formulate and de-gas for downpackaging in traditional bladed mixing equipment. In a SpeedMixer, the entire process can be easily and repeatably completed, while streamlining downstream processes. SpeedMixer also eliminates the need to clean and prep bladed mixing vessels, which increases production efficiency and throughput.
