Adhesives and Sealants
Mixing adhesives and sealants requires precision and repeatability. Multi-component reactive systems with various viscosity resins and cutting-edge additives are used across aerospace, industrial, medical, manufacturing, electronic, semiconductor, and automotive industries. These materials all have unique formulation and processing demands that are easy to overcome with the SpeedMixer.

Problem: Cross contamination of chemistries can lead to improper curing.
Solution: Batch mixing in the SpeedMixer’s single-use mixing containers allows for quick transition between formulations without the potential of cross contamination and chemistries negatively impacting each other.
Problem: Difficulty creating repeatable, homogeneous dispersion of low proportion crosslinkers (10:1, 100:1, etc)
Solution: The unique flow of materials in a SpeedMixer ensures that even the smallest amount of material is homogenized. Simple control over mixing speed and duration enables users full control over material processing. Since SpeedMixing is a non-invasive mixing technology, there are no blades or other physical inhibitors inside the mixing container which could interrupt flow of material and potentially create “hot spots” in a dispersion. Bladeless mixing eliminates the potential for material loss on stirring blades, propellers, or homogenizing heads, guaranteeing precise and repeatable results in every mix.
Problem: Incorporating and deagglomerating fillers and additives.
Solutions: Many adhesives and coatings rely on the addition of modifiers for viscosity and rheology. Shear force created within the mixing container will quickly and easily deagglomerate modifiers such as fumed silica, carbon black, cotton flock, carbonaceous materials, microspheres, etc, and has been found to more effectively wet out high surface area fillers. If optical clarity is an important factor in the final product, vacuum mixing can quickly clarify material by removing adsorbed air or moisture.
